Here’s a little snipped with video if you want to see how my beard moves when I talk! 😄
In other news, I went down in salary and working hours from first of April.
Since December 2023 I've been using my vacation days to be able to work on Service Level Calculator, my book, newsletter and a hands-on learning plan to catch up with the biggest change in our industry: AI.
I have also been working almost every evening and weekend which has been stressful and unsustainable because my extracurricular activities collide with my duties as a dad.
The downside of using vacation days is that the expectations don't change even if you're working less hours.
So, I decided to go down in salary (which also impacts my pension, bonus, and available PTO) to buy back some time. The idea is to combine this time with my vacation days to effectively gain 20% for extracurricular activities without having to sacrifice the time I should be resting and being with family.
I may have gone down in salary and working hours, but my expenses are higher thanks to inflation. Regardless, I believe this is the right call because self-learning, writing software, and books leads to long term growth.

And a huge thanks to those of you who support me already 🙌
There are also other ways to support me spending time on this:
Sharing the posts that inspire you within your circles to spread the message and inspire others.
Giving feedback to help me grow from your experience. My perspective is limited by my experience which is shaped by my professional journey. That's why this newsletter is named after me and not some generic phrase that promises to be an authority for a topic. Let me know your reflections in the comments (or if you got it by email, reply it).
Thank you.
